Emmanuel Y. Mendoza

Mr. Mendoza is the Managing Partner and heads the Audit and Business Consulting of M&Q. Mr. Mendoza started his career and spent 10 years with the Financial Services Group of the leading accounting firm in the Philippines, SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co (SGV & Co.). He has extensive experience in auditing, as well as in due diligence review for mergers and acquisitions, bond offerings initial public offerings and investment valuation.

Aside from his exposure in public practice, he was also directly involved in banking operations, as First Vice President and Financial Controller of Global Business Bank (GLOBALBANK), an affiliate of Metrobank and the Tokai Bank of Japan. Mr. Mendoza also served as GLOBALBANK’s Deputy Compliance Officer and Liaison officer with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and was a member of the Bank’s Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and the Operations and Compliance Committee. He played a strategic role in the three-way merger and acquisition between GLOBALBANK, Philippine Banking Corporation and Asianbank Corporation, particularly in the areas of regulatory requirements, tax planning, computer system integration, and in policies and procedures integration. As controller, he also oversees the Bank’s Risk Management Unit and was involved in the preparation of its risk management manual.

He is an independent director of a publicly listed universal bank since 2015 and is the bank's Audit Committee chairman. He is also a member of the bank's IT Steering Committee and headed the evaluation team that selected Bank’s the core banking system.

He is also an independent director of one of the biggest HMOs, Medicard Philippines, and is the chairman of the audit and risk committee.

Mr. Mendoza is a graduate of Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in Accountancy from the University of the Philippines and Master in Management from the Asian Institute of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP). He is a member of the Committee on Auditing Standards and Practices of ACPAPP. He is also a member of the Bank Institute of the Philippines.
